Menopause, indigestion & acid reflux.. the list goes on

I don’t know what to do or who to believe. Our doctors here in Africa don’t have much experience in diagnosing these problems.

More than 10 major medical organizations endorse hormone therapy as the best treatment for menopausal symptoms. Bioidentical hormone therapy is known to offer the safe and effective outcomes because of their structural match to human endogenous hormones. You don’t have to suffer with any one of these 34 symptoms of menopause.

They’re not associating them with menopause. They’re going to the doctor and the doctor is actually giving them stomach medication. Now, some of these stomach medications are called proton pump inhibitors. They’re medication such as omeprazole.

Women who enter menopause early get symptoms similar to those of natural menopause, like hot flashes, emotional problems, vaginal dryness, and decreased sex drive. In addition to dealing with hot flashes, mood swings, and other symptoms that accompany menopause, many women undergoing premature menopause have to cope with additional physical and emotional concerns. Herbs can also be used to restore balance in menopause. You need to be clear on what stage of menopause you are in.

Managing symptoms

It is very hard and I feel that people who say “it’s just heartburn” are very ignorant. This is a lifestyle on it’s own. Most of the time I can’t breath properly because the acid reaches up to my nose.

Progesterone and estrogen also influence neurotransmitters that regulate mood. When levels of these hormones drop, menopausal women may also find it difficult to restore happiness and calm after bouts of sadness, anxiety, and irritability, which can also contribute to depression. An inability to focus or difficulty concentrating can affect women throughout perimenopause and menopause.

Menopause

I’m 36 years old now and I’ve only had to be on meds twice since I was 22. Even if I have a ‘cheat’ day I don’t suffer any set backs like I did when I was younger and on meds. Never underestimate the power of a good workout. It’ll help you digest your food faster and keep you feeling much better than most medications. I started trying to make other changes – eating smaller dinners and not eating right before bedtime – and within a few months I was able to cut back to one pill every other day.

Inside Pain:

if you eat less carbs you kill off the bacteria. I’ve given up on doctors although I see a specialist to have a fibroscopy every two years, just to make sure everything is OK in there! The diet is the only thing that has helped me, if I cheat I pay!

So all of you out there who’re on prescribed medication…And most of us if we get something from the doctor, we don’t bother to read the leaflet in the box. It just goes straight into the bin.

These too can lead to nausea during menopause. For some women, nausea and menopause seem to come together as a package.
